Lisa Lockman– Rosina
$9,600.00
Ceramic (black c/5 clay and white glaze)
Process: The imagery for Rosina originated from vessel designs made in Maya modeling software intended to be 3D printed in ceramic. It turns out that I wasn’t as interested in 3D printing as I was in the designs emerging on the computer screen. On the screen, I could position the three-dimensional virtual object so that it was viewed from above or below which flattened the form into a two-dimensional pattern. I imported those two -dimensional patterns into Illustrator and used a laser to raster (etch) those patterns into wood to make press molds for clay.
