Spend the evening at our studio learning about clay and the ancient technique of Raku firing. First you’ll select two bud vases, handmade by our artists-in-residence, and decorate them with our Raku glazes. Then we’ll load your pieces into the kiln and fire her up! While the kiln is heating, you’ll have the opportunity to watch a potter’s wheel demonstration and have a snack (bring your own refreshments!). Then, once the Raku kiln has reached temperature we will remove them red hot out of the kiln with special equipment, place them in our combustible bins and let them get smokey and cool. It is a fiery-fun experience and you’ll be able to take your pieces home with you that night. No experience is necessary. Bring a friend or a date, and enjoy the evening.
