Adult Class Policies & Procedures

Open Studio:

The tuition for regular adult classes includes UNLIMITED ACCESS to Open Studio Time at the center. Registered students may use the studio and equipment during the class term (7 weeks) between the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00 pm daily, except when Open Studio Time is closed. SCAC reserves the right to close studios for classes, special events,workshops, or cleaning.|

Minimum Age Restrictions:

Only students ages 18 and up are eligible to register for SCAC’s adult classes. This age limit may be lowered depending on the experience level of the applicant. Please contact Jill for a waiver.

Tuition & Fees:

Please refer to class listings for tuition and fees. Unless otherwise noted, fees for adult classes include instruction, Open Studio Time, your first 25 lbs. of clay, glaze materials, and bisque and glaze firings. Additional clay, bisque and glaze firings may be purchased. Tuition may not be pro-rated.

Tools:

We provide basic tools for you to use during class. If you would like to purchase your own tools, a basic tool set is available for $20+tax.

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS:

If we cancel a class or workshop due to low enrollment we will refund 100% of the tuition. Tuition is due in full at time of registration. If a student cancels for any reason up to two weeks (14 days) before the class or workshop begins, a $25 processing fee will be subtracted from the refund, which will be issued via check. No refunds or transfers will be issued with less than a two-week (14 days) notice. Tuition can not be pro-rated. There are no make-up sessions. Classes usually fill quickly, so please register early! There are no other exceptions to this policy.

Weather:

As a general rule, SCAC will remain open during inclement weather. If local schools cancel or reschedule classes during particularly hazardous conditions we will do the same. Please feel free to call us at 581-2529 or check our Facebook page for cancellation information.

Emergency Contact & Medical Release Information

For your child’s safety while in our care, we ask all parents to fill out our Emergency Contact & Medical Release Form. We also ask for permission to capture images during class to use for promotion on social media and on our website. Please complete and submit the form before the start of class.

Siblings

SCAC offers a 10% discount for sibling enrollments. To receive the discount, please use the code SIBLING20 at checkout.

Enrollment:

Children will be enrolled in sessions on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment above or below the recommended age level for morning and afternoon sessions will be considered in special cases. Unused classes cannot be transferred to the next session or to summer camp. Makeups are only possible in the same session in the other after school camp, as long as your child is age appropriate.

ABSENCES:

In summer camp, there are no makeup days for absences or for days missed and parents are financially responsible for all days that their child has registered to attend. There will be no prorating of tuition for missed days due to sickness or travel, or any other reason.

SESSION CHANGES/Cancellations:

Session changes will be made on a space available basis at the directors discretion. We reserve the right to limit class size, substitute instructors or cancel sessions for which there are not enough children enrolled. Every effort will be made to place your child into another session offered.

WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS:

We do not offer refunds for student’s time off, missed days, family vacation, partially missed days, any medical reasons or anything else that requires time off from camp or class. We do not credit tuition for missed classes. If notified 24 hours in advance, and if space is available, students can make up one class per week on another day. If a student is asked to withdraw from class, no refund will be given. While Saratoga Clay Arts Center, LLC programs strives to make class enjoyable for all students, satisfaction with the experience is subjective on the part of the child and the parent.

If we cancel a class due to low enrollment we will refund 100% of the tuition. If you cancel for any reason, no later than two weeks (14 days) before the first day of class, you will be refunded 100% of the tuition, less a $25 processing fee. After this period, if a student elects to drop a class, tuition and fees will NOT be refunded for any reason except documented medical emergencies. However, the student will receive a credit in the amount paid, less a $50 penalty, that may be used toward another Adult class at the center. There are no other exceptions to this policy.
